Worry, Anxiety, And How We Cope

The epidemic of worry who would have ever thought that an article like this would be written to give us a different look about this year election, I believe David Brooks when he states that this campaign isn’t just about policy proposals because to me I think this presidential race is about targeting two candidates, because I believe the media is blowing the race all off subject and the reason why these two people are running to be the next president of the United States of America, David Brooks writes in his article “ some mental health therapists are reporting that three-quarters of their patients are mentioning significant election-related anxiety”, and I can relate because anxiety means feeling worry, nervousness, and a uncertain outcome of this election because I vote Democrat so I’m really worried if Hillary Clinton will win, because they are always talking about emails, and I stay glued to the TV every morning are night to see what’s being said about this election, In the eight paragraph he give me a clear understanding of concrete images and the abstract nature of worry and anxiety, when he write about the educated class and then he states that anxiety can be a feeling of overabundant of options without a core of convicting purpose, and that it’s worth nothing that rich countries are more anxious than poorer ones.

The concrete images to me that’s in David Brooks article is According to the world health organization, 18.2 percent of Americans report chronic anxiety while 3.3 percent of Nigerians do, the two flavors of worry or spiraling worry and to worry and I believe worrying can help America are take down America but I just can’t see it happen but who know right, and worrying affects every family, from worrying about our kids and being honest and loyal to our friends in a friendship, and the difference between anxiety in poor nations like Hattie and other places in the middle east is that there are no jobs and there is not much money, because there are poor people in the United States that are struggling with anxiety right now today, affluent nations or like “ having an abundant of wealth, property, or other material goods or prosperous and rich”, but I’m not rich so I can’t relate, but the poor, I can relate, I struggle at times and I worry about were the next dollar will come from.

I Can Relate

I have travel places living life to the fullest back in my days thinking that I would forever be young and I didn’t have a worry in the world because as a young person you think you are going to be here on this earth forever, you take life for granted but not knowing if you just would have tried to take life serious you probably would be set for life are not living pay check to pay check, I guess what I’m trying to say is watch who you hang with because the people you think is your friend is nothing but a snake waiting to see you fall, but the whole time you are young and you don’t know no better and you think they want you to succeed, you going through your puppy love stage just knowing you and your high school sweet heart is going to be together forever but you are young and you don’t know what you want, but the truth is your soulmate is still walking around somewhere in the world I mean it could be another place are city are even a smaller town your living in right now.

You just move to the city and you thinking that it’s like the population of 5,000 people were you come from but in the city you can’t go to sleep and forget to lock your door because if you do you are inviting trouble in, but you could do that back in the small town you came from, if you are a young lady fresh out of high school focus on getting your degree from college don’t let these guys blow your head up and throw you off track of the goal you trying to accomplish, and to you young man out there who is now exploring this big old crazy world just be careful because it’s some disease out there that will kill you in a heartbeat, and guess what the world don’t stop, I’m telling you life just keep on going and this world just keeps on spinning round and round, do right by your mother and your father don’t talk back listen, because those old souls no more than you can imagine and why they know more is because their your parents, now we as man and women have our own mind and we can do what we want, but you never know what another person is thinking so that’s why I can relate, and always say no to drugs because drugs isn’t cool, so just stay away from foolish people.

Yes Mike Rowe interview do make me stop and think what I’m doing at Blinn College but then when I come back to reality I stop and think and it come back to me why I’m at this college, and that is because I can’t do the work I use to do but I still must move forward, what stood out to me in Mike Rowe interview was when he said how Mr. Dunlap pointed at the boy with the cap and gown on and the other guy in the poster with the greasie mechanic suit own with the greasie ranch in his hand I thought that the was kind of bias, because people have they own mind sat on what they want to do with their life, yes I do believe Mike Rowe made some very valid points and I do believe that they were very logic for the topic of his interview, I like how he talked about how they are lending money to students and the money that the students don’t even have from the beginning, he speaks about how they are training students for jobs and careers that they may not work when they graduate from college and that’s true because when I work at Halliburton Energy in Caldwell Texas in 2011 and before we started out in the field of the oilfield industry, we went to Corpus Christi Texas for a 7 day orientation and there was students from the University Of Texas in Austin that couldn’t find a job for the degree they major in, so Halliburton Energy hired them own and train them to be survey engineers.
Mike Rowe also talk about that there is a trillion dollars in debt on the student loan side, but he brought up a great topic about the guy in Butler that drive heavy equipment for a living and he makes a hundred bucks and hour and this guy works when he wants and he owe no debt, but people don’t tell his side of the story, and I must say people are building their dream  homes making 1200 dollars a week driving big rigs are working in the oil and gas industry, and he talked about work ethic scholarships and what they are, and they are willing to learn use full skills and to work hard, last but not least he talks about he went to college, and then he went to work, went back to school and got a degree and I think that is awesome that he went through the struggle just like we are going through now, and his first real education was with reality TV  mostly in the sewer.

GOD
When I read and think about the David Brooks article the second sentence when he writes in 1985 most Americans told pollsters that they had about three confidants, people with whom they could share everything, I feel that way when it comes to God because when I pray to God no one ever know what I’m praying to him about and it make me feel good inside to know that my feelings I share with him and my secrets are well kept safe, and that is why I keep the faith because we as God children have different challenges in life and each one of us have a different relationship an intimate relationship with our father God in Heaven, yes it’s true that there are different religions in this world and we all worship God in different ways and the reason why I worship God is because he gives me a piece of mind, and when things get difficult I can always talk to him in prayer and my relationship with God give me strength and a strong belief that the impossible is just negativity that have you thinking that you can’t accomplish your goals, and I can but only if I keep my mind focus on the Job that is assign for me to do, because if I don’t put God first in my life I can get lost and caught up in the wrong wickedness quick and I refuse to start back hanging with the spoil fruit in the basket, my relationship with God teaches me to cherish the life that I have because we only have just this life to live and if we take life for granted it can just past us by, and I mean quickly, and by me having a close relationship with God it gives me a good attitude and to treat the people right who treats me right and if they don’t treat me right I believe you should still pray for them and wish them goodness in life because God will bless you for that, and show respect, and sometimes people are going to test your faith and say ugly things about you and the whole time they are trying to get you to act like them, rude, my relationship with God teaches me not to trust no man are put no man before him and that is what the word of God teaches me to do, and I must admit I feel good with the road I have taken in life because without God I probably wouldn’t be here right now writing these words.

                                                         My Hobbies

This past summer was very exciting for me because I spend every summer with my
youngest son he is eight years old now and me and him both love to fish, I mean we be
traveling to Marlin Texas to fish on the Falls On The Brazos Park and me and him have
caught some pretty big fish but he is not a fan of eating fish, we also use to go to
Gibbons Creek it’s a lake that is on highway 30 by Anderson Texas and Carlos Texas
and before they shut the spill way down we use to catch some big catfish out there at
that lake, I also spent a lot of time at the movies last summer with my youngest son
because it plays a big part of our family time for the summer and I also love watching
movies and going to see a good movie that me and my kid can watch, and I also spent
a lot of time at Grand Station this past summer bowling and playing games and letting
my kid ride bumper cars and pretty much have fun like he like too.
I don’t work no more I draw my SIB and that is Supplemental Income Benefits but
before my disability I was a truck driver for a company call Southern Specialty
Transportation it was dealing with the oilfield but I didn’t get to enjoy it much because
I got injured on the first day of the job, but before that I was a private contractor I was
working for Rodriguez Trucking in Rosebud Texas for John Rodriguez a cash job I
was responsible for paying my own taxes on this job, we haul corn and feed to
Sanderson farms and transporting harvest for local places like Milam grain in Cameron
Texas and also a company in Taylor Texas and Lone Star Grain in Calvert Texas, and
me and my co-workers were like brothers because we depend own one another when
you are driving big Rigs over the road.
And something that been on my mind Lately is getting through school and taking it
one day at a time with my studying and learning and keeping my notes from class and
building me a strong study habit so that I know that I will be on track with everything that
I need to do, and to focus better and to always be on point with assignments and home
work.  Written by: Tyrone Huffman

About exam 1

EXAM-1
I expected the exam to be just how you explain the assignments  in class it wasn’t that it wasn’t confusing it’s just I really didn’t prepare myself as much as I should have, the exam covered every topic that we reviewed in class and I was really afraid of this exam because I really didn’t study for it like I should have did do to my other classes and the home work for those classes that have due dates also, it wasn’t that it was mind blowing but it is when it is sitting in front of you and then you begin the test.
Yes the exam did meet my expectation of the topics on the exam, because it was the focus point of our discussions in class but when you don’t study those main topics that you have in your notes I attend to struggle a little, it was very interesting because I haven’t took and exam in twenty three years so I was really up for the challenge and I think that I did pretty good on this test, but what threw me off was the article that came with the test but I think I tackle it very well and answer it correctly.
I prepared for this exam by using the notes that we studied every day in class and I tried to memorize every vocabulary word as possible I made sure that I tried to focus on what I needed to know about this exam, from vocabulary words and inferences that he might would be asking on the exam so that I wouldn’t be setting in my seat puzzle and confuse, I made sure that I went over my notes before the exam so that everything would be fresh on my mind and that I would be able to answer questions that were on the exam.

Expressing Words
I have had encounters with a lot of words such as love I have had good experiences with love and bad experiences and also with heart aches and pain and it all came from that word love, and then when you know that love is serious, I mean when it is serious you turn on the radio and there is that song by R Kelly when a woman fed up this is when a woman is telling you that the love between you and her is over, so I guess I will stay away from love, now I hate to think about the word death because that mean that a love one are somebody is gone home away from the ones that care about them, but after the pain just like that song by the legendary Betty Wright sing, it just give me a feeling I can’t imagine that’s why happiness is always the healthiest part of my life, you got to let it go just like Teddy Pendergrass said in his song that old school jam it’s just another love T.K.O, I’m not a bully it make think why would someone want to bully another person are take advantage of someone freedom are life I just hate that word.

I have had plenty of moving moments when it came to using all types of words I mean words are power and words can also start a war and they also can keep the peace and make peace between God greatest creation and that’s people, I remember when I was in high school I told my oldest son mother that tonight when she come to the basketball game I was going to dunk for her I benefited  a lot from the word dunk,  you know words have help me financially many times I remember when I needed a job and my friend told me to go and talk to John Rodriguez that live in Rosebud Texas and I did and came out with the job because I told him that had eight years of truck driving experience, I told him the words he needed to her, I would like words to make my day, words like I see you keeping yourself up and words like you are very respectful and kind and the words of the bible are words of spiritual teaching inspire me, we need to use good words so we will know what we need to say at the right time or anytime, at the top you read when I told my oldest son mother if you come to the game tonight I will dunk for you, and I what I meant by that, that is one of the reason she love me so much because when she came to the game I always made sure I slam it down the goal for her just for being there it was that word love.

MY LIFE

Introduction
Hello my name is Tyrone Huffman Sr. I’m from Calvert Texas and I graduated school the year of 1994 and then after that about a week later my high school basketball coach Henry Thomas receive a phone call from coach Robert Hearn from Cisco Junior College, and he told coach Thomas that he would like to offer me a full two year scholarship to come and play basketball for them at their school that is located in the town of Cisco Texas 45 miles West of Abilene Texas, and then that day I got a call from Coach Thomas saying pack your bags and I asked him why? and he told me that the coach from Cisco Junior College wanted me to come and play basketball for them, and when he told me the news I was very excited and I was very happy because my career in basketball wasn’t over just yet and as a matter of fact right then and there it was just the beginning.

Now you and I know all good things don’t last long when you forget about that play time is over and now I’m a grown man and it is all about business now, because mama wasn’t there to wake me up for school no more, but to make a long story short I only went to school there and played ball for one year on that scholarship and that is because my smart mouth cut my college career short and I never played college ball again, and as time went by about fourteen years later I became a professional truck driver and the money was great after I built my experience up I mean skies was the limit until my trucking career was cut short also, on October 2, 2012 I had a three eighteen wheeler collision and one of the big rigs was mind so the doctors said I wouldn’t be able to drive no more so now I’m at Blinn College trying to get an associate degree in business so I’ll see how it go.
